RS-39 daily update

A week had passed since the separation satellite “Chibis-M” of the cargo vehicle “Progress M-13M” and began its independent flight. During this time a large amount of work on testing and configuring systems on board. During this time, control unit and made two points – the ground control in Kaluga and Kaluga remotely controlled from the ground complex in Krasnoyarsk.

Using these two systems control the spacecraft separated by a distance of 4,000 kilometers, can carry an average of 8 sessions per day with microsatellite and radio-visibility conditions cover almost the whole territory of Russia.

In today’s sessions were carried out work on the system management orientation and stabilization system, as well as tests of radio-speed transmission of scientific data.

According to the results of processing the received telemetry data service temperature and voltage onboard network are within acceptable values (voltage onboard network of about 14 volts, temperature from 0 to 23 degrees).

Morse beacon at a frequency of 435.215 kHz in the morning session off and will be active again on 16:30 UTC.

RS-39 daily summary

January 26 continued to work with the satellite “Chibis-M”. In the period from 01:00 am to 11:00 pm Moscow time, were carried out 4 sessions with ground control station in Krasnoyarsk and 5 sessions with ground control in Kaluga.

During this time the satellite passed over hundreds of commands and received a large amount of telemetry data. The data obtained allow to assess the state of each subsystem and satellite work out the correct method of management of these subsystems. Being closely monitored for system power and system orientation of the satellite. It was from their state depends on the successful operation of all onboard equipment.

For the past day onboard network voltage is varied from 13 to 15 volts, which corresponds to normal. Mounted on the satellite machine disconnects the battery to reach a certain voltage on it, cut-off threshold of the charge depends on the temperature of the battery.

The temperature of the equipment on board varies depending on the location of the satellite and, in general, ranges from 0 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Work continues on setting up the system orientation and stabilization of the spacecraft. To do this quickly analyze incoming data. During today’s session on satellite monitoring program has been laid and the calibration parameters of the orientation system.

Issuance of telemetry in Morse code was disabled this morning and will be included again in the 20:30 UTC.
