I talked with Marlin Perkins over at NOAA this morning and he has confirmed that bar-coding has returned in the HRPT data stream. At the moment this does not seem to affect the APT images. The engineering staff is actively looking into this but they seem to feel that this will come and go over the next few weeks. Because of the nature of the problem with the AVHRR there is no certainty what the image quality will be from day to day but we can hope to expect that this will eventually dissipate over time. I will update you this evening once I hear back from NOAA on this matte.
