FO-29 ROS test via satellite not successful

Today I tried to experiment with ROS over FO-29. It was not successful.
First of all, the sync time ( 4 seconds) seems a little bit too short. If you don’t know where exactly your signal is you have to adjust the uplink frequency very fast before the transmission starts.
If you missed the sync sequence you can’t decode the signal. It makes no sense to transmit a lot of text – this needs too much time and if you are not synchronized you will see only wild characters on the screen.

I could read two times my own call but after a one or two seconds I lost the sync. For my understanding it’s possible to synchronize the starting sequence within +/- Hz. But it’s not possible to do that during a transmission (like a AFC).
The HF bandwidth is exactly 1500Hz. You can see some screenshots on my SatBlog.
It was worth a try…
