Sion Chow Q. C., 9W2QC:
Mike,
This morning was late for the first pass at 0943 local, 0143 UTC. Tried to issue the heater switch off command, ****14#164# but nothing was heard.
Then had another pass at 1118 local, 0318 UTC with maximum elevation of 28 degrees. Approaching TCA, issued command ****14#200# (heater off to -55 degr) and was happy to hear what I believe is confirmation beeps after each command.
If you need my help with recovering COMPASS-1, please do feel free to let me know. I will help to the best of my ability.
Thank you. 73, Sion Chow Q. C., 9W2QC.

Bob, W1ICW:
Mike and team,
I was able to send the commands as well this morning on the 14:30 pass over the Eastern US, and received a “chirpy” confirmation tone after each command ( basically after each second # ) I sent the commands a total of five times to make sure they “stuck”.
Downlink beep was a good solid S-5 using M2 436CP30 and SSB preamp at the antenna.
I monitored the satellite for the entire pass and heard nothing else out of it.
