TUBIN telemetry

Here are a few telemetry packets from TUBIN from today’s pass from 1825 to 1830 UTC.
Not many are complete – many packets are only partially decoded – but they don’t end up in the KISS file.
Nevertheless, I have uploaded all the recordings to SatNOGS.
My receiver (dl0odx) will remain programmed for TUBIN for the next few days…

TUBIN, is about to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere in a couple of days

Dear radio amateurs,

The Earth observation satellite TUBIN [1] of Technical University Berlin, Germany is about to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere in the upcoming days. During the orbit decay it is transmitting a telemetry beacon every 10 seconds, including position, attitude, temperatures, etc. via amateur radio UHF band at 435.950 MHz. The colleagues would appreciate support of additional radio amateurs listening in and forward the received telemetry data. Further information can be found here [2]. As the orbit is decaying quite fast, most recent TLE’s shall be used, which are frequently updated here [3].

Any decoded frames, audio recordings or reception reports are very welcome and can be submitted following the instructions in [2]. The team at TU Berlin will collect all contributions and can provide specialized TUBIN re-entry QSL cards.

Let us give TUBIN a proper farewell from the amateur radio community and make its last orbits the best documented ones of the entire mission.

One of our satellites, TUBIN [1], is about to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere in a couple of days; 16th of December +/- 1 day. The satellite is using the UHF amateur frequency band 435.950 MHz [4] for basic communication to operate the satellite and transmitting telemetry. Currently, the satellite is configured to continuously transmit telemetry data (attitude, GPS, temperatures, etc.) every 10 seconds. This can be exciting for amateur radio operators who are listening in and invaluable additional telemetry for us; after being forwarded to us. We already have several amateur radio operators in Europe who record data and forward it to us. Additional ham radio users located in North America or worldwide would be a tremendous enrichment in gathering as much data as possible during this “hot” phase.

It would be fantastic if you could help spread the word within the amateur radio community so that TUBIN’s final orbits become a truly global effort. We would really appreciate any visibility you can provide.
